Chiara Guerrieri began studying Yoga in 1983 to rehabilitate and strengthen her core after a car accident; she continues to practice and teach yoga as a way to heal the separation between body and mind. Chiara teaches us how to breathe, how to connect the breath with the body, how to track physical sensations from moment to moment, how to find internal wisdom as body, breath, and mind work together to inspire our practice.
Chiara teaches us to focus on the core, on the deepest musculature of the body’s center. A stabilized core better supports the outer layers and limbs of the body. By developing the core, students connect to a deeper place within themselves; strength and grace are the result. Chiara’s classes are accessible to anyone with a basic background in yoga. She has a strong interest in injury evaluation and treatment, and welcomes students recovering from injury or other physical pain. Chiara adapts movement so that all students can participate and develop the support their bodies need to recover. She has studied Hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming; she uses her language skills to weave trances that wake us from our routines, allowing us to explore new pathways. Her instruction is lively, accessible, encouraging and compassionate, dedicated to working with each student to create a safe, strong practice.
Chiara is a licensed massage therapist, practicing since 1983, teaches Anatomy for Yoga Teacher Trainings, and is certified as a yoga instructor with Ana Forrest and Shari Friedrichsen. Her love of yoga nourishes her passion for dancing Argentine tango. Cultivating balance, awareness of center, stillness within movement while connecting with That which is greater than us expands in dancing together.
Quote from student:
“What I love about Chiara’s teaching is her sense of humor and the way she uses her knowledge of anatomy and communication to paint a visual of what the muscles are doing.”
